People & Admin Officer

About the Role

We’re seeking a versatile People & Admin Officer who can own the complete employee lifecycle for our Mumbai operations. You’ll manage everything from talent acquisition and onboarding to performance management and exits, while ensuring smooth administrative operations that support our growing team.

Unlike traditional HR roles, you’ll report directly to leadership ensuring strategic alignment and operate as the primary people function for our Mumbai office. What You'll Do?

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding 

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment process from job posting to offer acceptance 
  • Source candidates through multiple channels including job portals, referrals, and social media 
  • Conduct initial screenings, coordinate interviews with hiring managers, and facilitate selection process 
  • Prepare offer letters, employment contracts, and ensure compliance with labor laws 
  • Design and deliver comprehensive onboarding programs for new hires ensuring smooth integration 
  • Track recruitment metrics and optimize hiring processes for efficiency and quality 

Employee Relations & Engagement 

  • Serve as primary point of contact for employee queries, concerns, and conflict resolution 
  • Foster positive workplace culture through engagement initiatives, team events, and recognition programs 
  • Conduct regular check-ins with employees to assess satisfaction and address concerns proactively 
  • Mediate workplace conflicts and provide guidance on interpersonal issues 
  • Implement employee feedback mechanisms and drive continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Maintain open communication channels and ensure employees feel heard and valued 

Performance Management & Development 

  • Administer performance review cycles including goal setting, mid-year reviews, and annual appraisals 
  • Work with managers to identify performance issues and develop improvement plans 
  • Coordinate with Qrius team on training needs assessment and learning opportunities 
  • Track individual development plans and career progression pathways 
  • Provide coaching to managers on effective performance conversations and feedback delivery 
  • Maintain performance documentation and ensure consistency in evaluation processes 

Compliance & Policy Administration 

  • Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws, statutory requirements, and company policies 
  • Manage employee documentation including contracts, amendments, and personnel files 
  • Administer payroll inputs, attendance tracking, and leave management systems 
  • Handle statutory compliance including PF, ESI, professional tax, and other regulations 
  • Update and communicate HR policies ensuring clarity and consistent application 
  • Conduct exit interviews and manage offboarding process including final settlements 

HR Operations & Administration 

  • Maintain accurate HRIS records and generate reports on headcount, attrition, and other HR metrics 
  • Manage office administration including facilities, vendor coordination, and workplace supplies 
  • Coordinate with UK and Nepal offices on cross-border HR matters and policy alignment 
  • Administer employee benefits programs and address benefits-related queries 
  • Handle documentation for visa, work permits, and business travel when required 
  • Organize team events, celebrations, and workplace experience initiatives

Requirements

Experience & Skills 

  • 1 – 2 plus years proven experience in HR generalist or people operations roles 
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws, statutory compliance, and HR best practices 
  • Experience managing full recruitment lifecycle from sourcing to onboarding 
  • Solid understanding of performance management systems and employee relations 
  • Excellent conflict resolution and interpersonal communication skills 

Technical Requirements 

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and HR management software 
  • Advanced MS Excel skills for HR analytics and reporting 
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and statutory compliance procedures 
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and recruitment platforms 
  • Experience with employee engagement survey tools

  • HR certification (SHRM, CIPD, or equivalent) 
  • Experience working in technology or QA services companies 
  • Previous experience with distributed teams across multiple locations 
  • Knowledge of UK employment practices for cross-border coordination 
  • Experience implementing HR systems or process improvements 
  • Background in employer branding or talent marketing 
  • Familiarity with learning and development program administration
